Watch our April 3, 2022 Worship service. It includes singing, announcements, special music “Ten Thousand Angels“ sung a cappella by Martha, and a sermon by Tom Cantor from Micah 6.
Tom titled his sermon from Micah 6 “O My People Remember.” Tom noted that the chapter started with the The word “Hear” (Shema in Hebrew). He went to Isaiah 53:3 the point of the sufferings of Jesus. Next, he showed how this was done to make one flock of all believers (John 10). He concluded this section with Hebrews 4:15 emphasizing how the Lord Jesus identified with our sufferings. He drew from the prophet Hosea to show how the Lord God is faithful to Israel even when they are unfaithful. In teaching from Micah 6, he noted the importance of Moses, Aaron, and Miriam to Israel. Another one of the points he made was that with Balaam, “God turns a curse into a blessing.”
The hymns for this worship/communion service included “When I See the Blood” (269), “Nailed Upon Golgotha’s Tree” (191), and the closing hymn “Once More Around Thy Table, Lord (850). Numbers are from the Friendship with God Hymnal. This is the hymnal we use. We have a free copies at Mission Valley Community Chapel.
