About Mission Valley Community Chapel
Beginnings
Mission Valley Community Chapel was founded in 1952 by Pastor Jim and Jean Mader. Jim worked for the “San Diego Hebrew Mission”. In the spirit of the Christian Brethren, (Open Plymouth Brethren), his work at the Chapel was volunteer, allowing the majority of our giving to go to missions and evangelism.
Distinctives
We continue the volunteer leadership and focus on supporting missions and evangelism. There are opportunities to serve for those interested.
We are an independent, Bible believing, Christian Church. We believe God loves all, Christ died for all, and the Holy Spirit calls all. People are responsible to respond in faith. We believe in God’s promises to Israel, and the future salvation and restoration of Israel.
We have a weekly Lord’s Supper/Breaking of Bread service. In this informal service, we sing hymns, and different men teach and pray before we take Communion.
Emphasis
We are committed to exalting the Lord Jesus Christ through the Bible, prayer, and missions.
Worship
We have a traditional worship service including prayer, congregation hymn singing, special music, and a sermon from the Bible. From very casual to formal dress.
Fellowship
Sundays, we have fellowship and refreshment at 10:55 am between Sunday school and the Worship service. We also have different prayer meetings, and formal and informal groups.
