Watch our July 31, 2022 adult Sunday school class taught by Tom Cantor (Matthew 24:15-18).

Tom taught from Matthew 24, specifically Matthew 24:15-18. First, he gave a review of the chapter and background. Then, he noted the dangers of deception (24:4) and that lies often come with truth and look good. He also pointed out that spiritual deception most often attacks the truth of Jesus Christ is God. He added that one way to detect deception was to stay immersed in the Word of Truth.

Tom then pointed out that we can’t know all the details of prophecy we can still learn. Other points he made were why people perish (unbelief), and connected the rapture to the pattern of Noah and the ark and Lot and his family at Sodom.

Finally, Tom noted the importance of being ready in this fallen world (II Peter 3:11).

Yom Kippur war and Jewish evangelism – July 22, 2022 Friday Family Night service

Watch our July 22, 2022 Friday family night with a talk from a eyewitness of the Yom Kippur war.

The service as hymn singing, prayers, “rehearse the verse”, and a short talk. Tim A., a former enlisted marine, talked about his time in Israel and being there on a kibbutz during the Yom Kippur war in 1973. (You should’ve been there. He told even more interesting things about his time in Israel after the service!) He also talked about biblical prophecy and some of his experiences in and helpful advice about Jewish evangelism. This is part of our countries around the world theme for this summer.

Summer’s First Friday Family Night!

This Friday, July 15, is the Chapel’s first Friday Family Night this summer. I always enjoy Family Night (even though I’m single!).

It starts at about 6 PM with a potluck at Mader Hall. Families please bring a main dish and a salad or dessert. Single bring one dish.

After the potluck, we will have a short, informal time of singing and a talk at the Chapel. Sam Burton, retired missionary to Brazil, is going to give the first talk. He will be talking about Portuguese speaking countries and the need for evangelism.

Afterwards, often some peoples stay to play board games.
