Review

“The Footprints of Messiah in the Feasts of the Lord” is a study of the Feasts of the Lord and their fulfillment by Jesus the Messiah (Christ). First, she analyzes the difference between figurative and literal. Next, she goes over the Feasts of the Lord in their biblical and historical keeping. Then she goes over the fulfillment of the Spring feast by Jesus. And then moves from there to the fulfillment of the rest of the feasts by Jesus the Messiah.

She includes not only the Feasts in Leviticus, but the other two feasts mentioned in the Bible Hanukkah (Chanukah) and Purim. Also, she analyzes the feasts in Leviticus in the context in which they are given. These includes the Sabbath and the gap between the spring and fall feasts.

She sums up with questions about keeping the Feasts today and showing how the Feasts are a picture the redemptive history and the Gospel itself.

She focuses on the Jesus Christ and is premillennial and restoration of Israel. Different people, even at Mission Valley Community Chapel (though we are Christ centered, pre-millennial, and restoration of Israel), have different views on some of the details of the Feasts and their fulfillment.

You can pick up a free copy at the Chapel. Even if you disagree with some of the details, you might find it thought-provoking!

Passover and Jesus Our Passover Lamb by “Grandma” Joelee for kids

“Passover and Jesus Our Passover Lamb“ by “Grandma Joelee” Chamberlain. This is a Children’s Bible Audios-Stories for Kids free audio. You can listen on SermonAudio

In this audio, first she tells the story of the original Passover in Exodus. Then, she connects this with John the Baptist to the Lord Jesus Christ being “the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.“ She tells of Christ’s crucifixion and relates Passover to it as a type, a “picture-prophecy.”

She then goes on to connect the work of Jesus Christ to the Feast of Unleavened Bread and First Fruits. She develops the number of points and connections in a way that a child can understand and enjoy.

This offers apologetics for kids through fulfilled prophecy and type. It is specifically an Easter apologetic. It can we listen to Jess for enjoyment, part of homeschooling, or other schooling. Many kids like listening to them when they go to bed.

This is part of her Holidays & Other Stories Series. But as this audio has fulfilled typology, you could also go with her Apologetics for Kids Series. And it fills out her Escape from Egypt (the Book of Exodus), too.

Listen to “The Feasts of the Lord” by “Grandma” Joelee

Listen to “Grandma“ Joelee’s latest Children’s Bible Audios-Stories for Kids, “The Feasts of the Lord (Pre-millennial).” Both the audio and a PDF of it are available here on SermonAudio

It is an interesting mix of prophecy, typology, apologetics, the first and second comings, and the gospel for kids ages 4–10. It shows how the Lord Jesus Christ fulfills these feasts. Jesus is the Messiah!

“This tells about the 7 original Feasts of the Lord as given to Moses plus the 2 man-made feasts in the Bible, Hanukkah (New Testament, Feast of Lights) and Purim (in the book of Esther). This has many of the details of the 7 original Feasts that were told about before in “#B03 – God’s Holidays”, but this new audio includes more details about the Second Comings from the Fall Feasts, givng a pre-millenial point of view (after Christ returns, He reigns for 1000 years before the Eternal State). (“God’s Holidays” told of the Second Coming in a general way and only had the original 7 Feasts of the Lord.) In this audio, Christ’s First Coming is presented in detail in the Spring Feasts, and the Second Coming is presented in detail from the Fall Feasts and from the 2 other Feasts, too. It is told for children, ages 4-10, though adults may enjoy it also. Of course, it is connected to the Gospel.” – from Joelee Chamberlain’s description of her audio

This and her other audios are on SermonAudio and many other podcast sites including iTunes Google Podcasts and Stitcher

These can just be listened to, used for homeschooling, or in other formal instruction.

Review

This book is a short autobiography. It starts when he was a boy, tell us about his Jewish upbringing, and disciplinary problems he had at different schools. At seven years old, he was even sent to a military school. He ended up in a school in Switzerland. He tells of meeting his wife, and some of their struggles. After they met, she became pregnant  from a sexual assault, they got married, and put the baby up for adoption.

He tells about becoming a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. One step included when celebrating the Passover his uncle Pete to irritate his wife blurted out, “Christians believe that Christ was the Passover lamb!”

He concludes about his reconnecting with the daughter they put up for adoption. The last two chapters are a gospel presentation from two different perspectives, the historical and the personal.

This is in many ways a very honest book. Tom is open about his thoughts and feelings, even if they do not paint them in the best light.

“Changed” by Tom Cantor is an interesting read and a good evangelistic giveaway book. You can Google it to see the impact is making. Many people at Mission Valley Community Chapel have given this book away; we have keep having to get more copies for on the free table. It goes so quickly!

Tom Cantor usually teaches our Adult Sunday School class (He’s going through the Gospel of Matthew now) and gives the sermon for our worship service on the odd numbered Sundays of the month (His sermons are usually a series on a topic or through a book of the Bible).

Update

Last Saturday, March 22, 2022, the New York Post ran an article on Tom Cantor’s most recent mass mailing of his book “Changed” – New Yorkers flooded with unsolicited book pushing religious change.

They called it “Junk mail for Jesus.” But as Apostle Paul wrote, he was glad for whatever motive Christ (the Messiah) was preached (Philippians 1:18). How much more when it’s “Junk mail for Jesus” with a good motive! And as the apostle Paul, a Jewish believer in Jesus, said “My heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved” (Romans 1:10).
