Watch our November 13, 2022 adult Sunday school class taught by Tom Cantor from Matthew 26:57-65.

Tom first read Matthew 26:57-68. He did this even though the teaching was on Matthew 26:57–65. Next, he reviewed the background concerning the betrayal in the garden.

Tom also made the following three contrast. First, he noted how the high priests were condemning the great high priest (Hebrew 7:24). Second, he pointed out the scribe, who were to have the knowledge of the Old Testament prophets were against the Truth (John 14:6). Third, he made the point that the elders, the rulers, were against “the only potentate, the king of kings” (I Timothy 6:15).

Tom also contrasted Jesus‘s treatment (verse 57) to that of the Passover lamb (John 1:29). And his examination (for 60) with the treatment of Stephen (acts 6:13) and how the Passover lamb was examined, too.

Tom also addressed the charges, the tactics used at the trial, and Jesus is confession that he was the Christ.
